I created this dashboard for fun to examine differing aspects of box office releases and Oscar winners from 2014 to 2023. For the box office releases, I used Box Office Mojo’s resource to gather the top 100 movies based on gross worldwide earnings each year, and went through each movie to gather information on the U.S. distributor, genre, MPAA rating, country of origin, and more! I used a different resource to get the Oscar winners’ information, but still had to go through each movie to get certain pieces, including country of origin, if I could not find it in one of the top 100 lists.

This dashboard was certainly a labor of love that took many hours to get right. All of the charts can be viewed by year or over multiple years, while some are distributor dependent. Feel free to play around with the different menus and compare each year!
