Photo Description: A Garfield shaped phone sits on a beach shore. It has been painted to look sun-bleached. Behind the phone are various pieces of other Garfield phones strewn along the length of the shore. It appears the calm ocean waters are slowly pushing them up to shore.

A Beach Full of Garfield Phones

For over 3 decades, Garfield phones continuously washed up onto beaches in Brittany, France. No one knew why until the mystery was finally solved in 2019. Inspired by such a bizarre story, this was my first acrylic painting of 2020 and was meant to cover up a painting I had previously done years before but was unhappy with. This painting now sits proudly on one of my walls.
